Lolita Fashion

29 Nov

Lolita fashion is a fashion subculture originating in Japan that is primarily influenced by Victorian clothing as well as costumes from the Rococo period. Lolita has made this into a unique fashion by adding gothic and original design elements to the look. Although some do choose to follow a strict Lolita lifestyle, there are others who simply enjoy wearing the clothes. For the majority of Lolita, dressing in the fashion does not mean changing personalities and habits.

Gothic Lolita dress, sometimes shortened to GothLoli, is a combination of the Gothic and Lolita fashion. Gothic Lolita fashion is characterized by a darker make-up and clothing. As with some Western Gothic styles, cross jewelry and other religious symbols are also used to accessorize the Gothic Lolita look.

Sweet Lolita dress, also known as ama-loli in Japanese, is heavily influenced by Rococo styles as well as Victorian and Edwardian clothing. Classic Lolita is a more mature style of Lolita that focuses on Baroque, Regency, and Rococo styles. Colors and patterns used in classic Lolita can be seen as somewhere between the Gothic and sweet styles; it is not as dark as Gothic Lolita, but not as cutesy as sweet Lolita. Punk Lolita adds punk fashion elements to Lolita fashion.

Wonderbra

15 Nov

The Wonderbra is a type of push-up underwire brassiere that gained worldwide prominence in the 1990s. Although the Wonderbra name was first trademarked in the U.S. in 1935, the brand was developed in Canada. Moses (Moe) Nadler, founder and majority owner of the Canadian Lady Corset Company, licensed the trademark for the Canadian market in 1939. By the 1960s the Canadian Lady brand had become known in Canada as “Wonderbra, the company.” In 1961 the company introduced the Model 1300 plunge push-up bra. This bra became one of the best-selling Canadian styles and is virtually identical to today’s Wonderbra.

In 1968, Canadian Lady changed its name to Canadian Lady-Canadelle Inc., was sold to Consolidated Foods (now Sara Lee Corporation), and later became Canadelle Inc. During the 1970s Wonderbra was repositioned as the company’s fashionable and sexy brand, and became the Canadian market leader.

In 1991, the push-up Wonderbra became a sensation in the UK, although it had been sold there since 1964 under license by the Gossard division of Courtaulds Textiles. Sara Lee Corporation did not renew Gossard’s license and redesigned the push-up style for the reintroduction of the Wonderbra to the U.S. market in 1994.

Since 1994, the Wonderbra has expanded from the single push-up design into a full-range lingerie fashion label in most of the world. In most countries, the brand emphasizes sex-appeal. In its native Canada, however, the brand promotes the functional qualities of its products—a departure from the strategy that made Wonderbra the top-seller in the 1970s.

OiOi Diaper Bags

15 Aug

After giving birth to her beautiful baby girl over ten years ago, Lisa Bennetts was inspired to create a label that provided mothers with the confidence to look and feel amazing. OiOi bags knows that after nine months of pregnancy, a woman doesn’t want to sacrifice fashion for function. Providing styles the rival top designers, while allowing space and functionality, OiOi Diaper Bags has given mother’s what they crave.

OiOi bags are loved for their sophisticated designs, vibrant fabrics, and functional shapes. OiOi bag shapes range from backpack, messenger, to carry all, hobo and tote. All styles are made out of plain or quilted micro fiber fabric that is easy to clean, and provide more space than they appear to. Each style contains pockets for car keys, cell phone and wallet, a large cushioned change mat, an insulated bottle holder, and a bag for soiled diapers or change of clothes. OiOi Baby bags are fashion-forward and practical bags, known for their excellent quality and reliability.

Reviews of OiOi Diaper Bags:

Love It!Super roomy and easy to find stuff with all of the individual compartments. Interior key clip and exterior bottle holder are nice features. Perfect for mommies who refuse to be frumpy (aka it doesn’t look like a bag that Disney puked all over). Interior is easy to wipe clean.

All-season perfect bag – I love this bag. It doesn’t look like a typical diaper bag. And it isn’t as bulky as some of them–more streamlined against your body. You can wear it over one shoulder or messenger-style to be hands-free. The orange interior (of the style I have) makes it easy to find things. The changing pad that comes with it is really cheap and impractical, though–surprising for such an EXPENSIVE diaper bag.
